Many nonprofit mailers are not aware that the Postal Service has run pricing promotions the last few years. Even if you are aware, quite often the promotions seem mysterious with not very intuitive names. They are not as easy as “buy one, get one free” or “20 percent off your entire purchase.”
Instead, USPS promotions have names like, “Emerging and Advanced Technology” and “Tactile, Sensory & Interactive Engagement.” Huh?
If you invest a bit of time, you could find a diamond in the rough that could save your nonprofit some money and maybe increase the success of your fundraising. We have suggested that nonprofits particularly take a look at the sale called “Earned Value.” The name is misleading as the promotion is meant to encourage more use of Reply Mail, which is right in the wheelhouse of nonprofits.
And “Earned Value” now will include a new kind of mail called “Share Mail.” No, we did not say “Snail Mail.” Share Mail enables a mailer to include postage-paid mail pieces that the recipient can address and send on to friends and family who might also want to support the cause of the mailing. And the originator of the mailing pays only the postage that is actually used, through intelligent barcodes.
All that is to say that we encourage nonprofit mailers to pre-register and look in on this Wednesday’s webinar:
