New Postmaster General Megan Brennan was greeted with a standing ovation and many smiles as she entered her first Mailers’ Technical Advisory Committee (MTAC) meeting as the CEO of the Postal Service. PMG Brennan focused on the positive in her remarks, including recent profitable financial results and an optimistic outlook for growth, investment and innovation. Megan also described her approach to not changing for the sake of changing and deriving value from continuity.

When esteemed MTAC member Dennis Farley of ESPN The Magazine asked about an apparent change in recent Postal Service thinking about the “anchor of the mailbox”, from periodicals to catalogs, Megan quickly responded with, “I love all of my children equally.” The assembled MTAC crowd got a hearty laugh out of that interchange.
