kearneyPostcom.org reports that Stephen M. Kearney, currently the USPS Manager for Customer Retention, is leaving the agency to become the executive director of the Alliance of Nonprofit Mailers, replacing Tony Conway, who is retiring in December.

Kearney was the head of the USPS stamp program for two years until he was ousted from that post last December by new USPS Marketing Chief Nagisa Manabe.

Until current PMG Pat Donahoe took over the USPS in 2011, Kearney had been one of the USPS’s highest ranking executives, having been appointed an officer of the USPS by PMGs Anthony Frank, Bill Henderson, and Jack Potter. He served as Treasurer from 1990 to 2000, and then as a Vice President or Senior Vice President, and member of the USPS Executive Committee under Potter.

Kearney is a graduate of McGill University and has an MBA from George Washington University.
