Get Your Forever Stamps Now
January 15, 2019
Effective Sunday, January 27, 2019, the postage rate for single-piece First-Class letter stamps will go up 5 cents to 55 cents. Nonprofits should consider stocking up on 50 cent Forever stamps before the record 10 percent increase. Forever stamps retain their value indefinitely regardless of future postage rate increases. Many nonprofits know that stamps can increase response rates for fundraising and membership appeals. Business Reply Mail will go up a similar amount, but there is no Forever BRM.
The Postal Service will be selling large rolls of 50 cent Forever stamps right up to 3 PM Central Standard Time (4 PM EST) on Friday, January 25, 2019. The way for nonprofit mailers to get these stamps before their price goes up 10 percent is described in a presentation given recently by USPS Vice President of Marketing, Steven Monteith: Stamps Now Presentation.
Mr. Monteith’s presentation included the following contact information. We advise getting in touch and setting up your order as soon as possible, because inventory and customer service bandwidth are likely to be limited as the deadline approaches.
