PostalPro is the new version of a USPS website for professional mailers and service providers. It is in beta version 1.3, and will replace the old RIBBS website when it is ready for prime time. Already, we can see huge improvements.
The latest version is described as follows:
A valuable informational repository, PostalPro provides a wealth of resources to enhance communication and promote transparency between business mailers and the United States Postal Service.
Stay tuned for updates as we continue to improve the beta. (Also, remember your feedback is critical to optimizing the PostalPro experience so keep the comments coming!)
There is a feedback button on the new site and we encourage nonprofit mailers to help out with their comments, questions and suggestions. Mailers also can subscribe to the PostalPro newsletter to receive information about important updates to USPS business mail products and services.
A great example of something you will find on PostalPro is all of the changes to the Domestic Mail Manual (DMM) that postal staff is proposing for 2017. If you want to see specifically how the proposed changes will affect your mail, this is a great place to start.
Another enhancement is a “portal” for Postal Customer Councils (PCC) around the country that will now have a place to share information. There are “public” and “members-only” sections to the portal. The public site sounds like a good starting point to mailers interested in joining a PCC. It includes learning resources, facts about membership, and PCC newsletters, locator, and events. The members’ portal sounds especially exciting as it will enable online collaboration and discussion forums.
If you ever have considered going to a PCC, joining a PCC or re-connecting with your local PCC, now ignorance will be no excuse! The connections and expertise you gain through PCC participation could make a big difference in your nonprofit’s performance with mail.
