• DM News: Postal Board of Governors Is Down to One Member. There should be nine, but the Senate’s inaction on five nominations leaves James Bilbray the last man standing.
• USPS Link: Ready to go. New extended capacity vehicles being deployed.
• Time: The U.S. Postal Service Will Now Email You Pictures of Your Mail. Snail mail gets a digital upgrade. In hopes of making snail mail more convenient, the U.S. Postal Service will begin emailing customers pictures of their mail every morning, the USPS announced Monday.
• Observer: Postal Service Informed Delivery Resembles Startup USPS Squashed. The service bears a lot of similarities to Outbox, a service the USPS railed against in 2013.
• Office of Inspector General: Mail Transport Equipment Service Centers–Nationwide Assessment. We found that Postal Service Headquarters management needs to enforce nationwide compliance and oversight of MTESC operations and transportation. Specifically, Postal Service facilities did not always properly prepare excess MTE before dispatching it to the MTESCs.
